Terms & Conditions
Last updated 21 September 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
Plenary HQ ("the Service") is owned and operated by Matthew Farineau, a sole trader trading as Plenary HQ ("we", "us"). You can reach us through our contact form. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.
2. Order processing and payments
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service enquiries and handles returns. Paddle's buyer terms are available at paddle.com. All prices are shown in US dollars; sales tax and VAT are calculated and charged by Paddle at checkout based on your location.
Plenary HQ is sold as one-time event passes, not a subscription. A pass unlocks a single event in your account and does not expire or renew. There is no recurring charge and nothing to cancel.
3. Your account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old, or old enough to form a binding contract where you live, to purchase.
4. Licence
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for planning and running your own events for as long as these terms are in force. You may not resell, sublicense, reverse engineer, or copy the Service or any part of it.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the event data, attendee details and other content you put into the Service. You grant us the limited right to host and process that content so we can provide the Service to you. You are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and upload any personal data about your attendees.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, branding and documentation remain our property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break any applicable law or regulation, or infringe anyone else's rights;
- send spam, bulk unsolicited email, or messages to people who have not opted in;
- upload malware, attempt to gain unauthorised access, or interfere with the Service's operation or security;
- store or distribute unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive or sexually explicit material;
- use automated means to place unreasonable load on the Service, or resell access to it.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if your use puts the Service or other customers at risk, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practical we will give you notice and a chance to put things right first. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy.
9. Availability and disclaimers
We work to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law. Recommendations generated by automated planning features are suggestions only; you are responsible for checking them against your venue's real constraints.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, or lost data.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Material changes will be notified by email or in the app.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms: send them through our contact form.
